Pelikan 4001 Blue-Black is a water-resistant (but not totally waterproof, look for Fount India for the best water resistance) fountain pen ink of the classic blue-black color.
Just like any other formal shade of blue or black it is appropriate in every environment. And its water-resistance means that everything you will write with this ink will survive any accidental spill or a flood.
Pelikan 4001 Blue-Black can be used with any modern fountain pen without any risk of damaging it. Yet proper pen hygiene is still required. Flush your pen once a month and never allow ink to dry inside the pen.
Pelikan 4001 series of inks is available in 8 great colors, two bottle sizes, and in sample vials:
